Faran Sabeti
Professional Bio
Faran is an optometrist and academic with clinical and research expertise in retinal biomarkers of inflammatory disease. Has designed visual functional experiments to examine the response characteristics and diagnostic utility of multifocal pupillographic objective perimetry (mfPOP) from early to advanced stages of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease. His post-doctoral work has focused on changes in retinal function from microvascular abnormalities in diabetic retinopathy. This led to a successful Diabetes Australia grant application in 2020. His current PhD student is evaluating potential improvements in vision in patients with AMD by utilising a physiological phenomenon known as stochastic resonance.
